Undoubtedly we all want to keep our skin and hair healthy and look our best.

Sometimes, without realising we develop certain lifestyle behaviours that can prove to be detrimental to what we want to achieve with our looks.

These habits might not show immediate damage but are slowly working against your appearance.

1. Not cleaning your phone.

Cell phones attract dust and grime accumulating the environmental toxins throughout the day.

And with every phone call we receive we expose our skin to all this grime.

The dirty material or objects touching your face regularly and creating bacterial infection can cause clogged pores, acne and even some serious irritation.

2.  Using dirty pillowcases.

If not washed regularly, the pillowcases accumulate all the dirt and harmful bacteria.

These are from our own hair and skin products, which gather from the daily use.

And this can cause skin irritation and allergies.

The buildup of grease and dirt clogs the pores and can result in acne and blemishes.

3. Too much air-conditioning.

The dryness from air conditioners lowers the humidity levels of the room and this results in the loss of moisture from the skin.

Excessive air conditioning can have harmful effects on the skin causing dehydration and premature signs of ageing.

4. Too much sugar.

High consumption of sugar can creates inflammation in the whole body.

This inflammation results in the production of particular enzymes that breakdown collagen resulting in wrinkles, lines and sagging.

And this can flare up acne and breakouts too.

5. Hot showers.

Who doesn’t like to take long hot showers in the winters.

But long and very hot showers can damage the skin seriously by weakening the capillaries and leaving it red and overly dry.

These unnoticeable, daily habits won’t show immediate loss but will eventually add up to the damage overtime.

Be a little more aware and you won’t have to deal with a lot of skin problems .

So, treat your skin right if you want it to look great.
