Most of us don’t put half as much effort in taking care of our feet as compared to our face.
You should take good care of your feet especially if you wear sandals or flip flops.
Here are 5 simple steps to get protect and improve the skin and appearance of your feet:-
Step1. Foot soak
Soak your feet in a foot tub full of warm water.
Add your favourite scented foot salt.
I personally like lavender bath salts. Soak for about 10 -15 minutes so that the skin gets a little soft and ready for scrubbing.
Step2. Foot scrub
Now scrub off the dead skin from your feet, which is the reason behind its dry and dull appearance.
Gently massage a foot scrub in circular motions especially on the heels and the toes.
To make a foot scrub, mix equal amounts of-
Make sure you don’t rub too hard to avoid damaging the skin and leaving it over exfoliated and red.
If you are dealing with thick stubborn skin on the bottom of the feet, then gently rub it with a good quality pumice stone or use a foot buffer to get rid of the parched dry skin.
But again, make sure you don’t rub it too hard otherwise it can result in bruises.
Now that the feet are free of all the grime and the layers of dead skin cells, its time to nourish them with a good foot cream which is high in moisture.
To make your own organic foot butter blend, mix together-
Avocado Butter -2 tablespoon
Coconut oil-5 tablespoon
Vitamin E oil– 6 drops
This gives an instant moisture kick and leaves the feet dewy and soft.
Step5. Treatment mask
Masking is an essential step to lock in the moisture and get rid of the discolouration caused by sun and pollution.
This is what you need to make a super moisturising foot mask –
Crushed Oats-5 tablespoons
Almond flour– 5 tablespoons
Argan oil – 5 drops
Coconut cream –just enough to make it into a paste.
Mix and store in a mason jar to use it over and get smooth, beautiful feet.
