Who doesn’t look forward to a facial appointment to relax and get a radiant skin at the same time?

It is always a delight to have an expert work on your skin while you reap the benefits of a good massage.

But to get the most out of your facial experience there are a few things that you need to do.

1. Discuss:

Make sure you talk to your therapist well before she starts with the session .

Tell her about all your skin concerns in detail. This is really important because the whole treatment will be based on this information you provide her before getting on the facial table.

Express your expectations from the session and be clear about what you want out of the session, so she can specifically concentrate on achieving the desired results.

2.Hygiene:

The hygiene of the facial bar is even more important than the treatment itself. You have got yourself on the facial table to get one step closer to a healthier skin, you don’t want to come back with an infection instead.

Its always better to check the cleanliness of the place well before you make an appointment , because it can be a little awkward to leave the place once you are all set to get started with the session.

Make sure the robes and towels are well laundered. if you have a  slightest of doubt then without any hesitation ask for disposable towels.

Using the same face  brushes and tools for all the clients can sometimes lead to some serious skin problems so make sure the place has a strict hygiene policy.

3.Timing:

taking a facial treatment right before a big event is never a good idea . the facial therapy sometimes leaves the skin red and sensitive. Its always good to have atleast 2 to 3 days of gap in between your session and the important event.

4. After care:

don’t leave without asking about the products you have to use at home in order to reap and maintain the full benefits of the facial session.

tell your  therapist  about the products you were already using and if they can be continued after the treatment.

And do not hesitate to call  her back later  if you need to discuss any concerns because how you manage the treatment  is as important as the treatment itself.

5. Refrain From:

a. Sun – All the deep work done to the skin in a facial session can leave the skin red and sensitive . therefore its best to avoid getting in the sun for few hours as it can lead to sunburns .

b. Waxing – Its best to avoid waxing for at least 24 hours after the facial. It can cause redness, rash and even breakouts.

c. Makeup – Skip makeup for few hours and let your skin breathe. Heavy greasy makeup can clog the pores and lead to congestion defeating the whole purpose of the facial.

Therefore going for a facial treatment requires a little bit of an extra effort if you want to get maximum benefits for your time and money and glow much after you left the facial spa.
