BB, CC and DD creams are the ongoing rage in the skincare industry.

But with so many choices in hand, it gets confusing to know how they work and what purpose they solve.

Heres a quick guide to all these creams and their targeted functions for your skin requirements.

  • BB cream (Beauty Balm)

Anti-ageing (moisturizing)+SPF+Light Coverage

BB Creams are multi functional creams that are moisturizing, give sun protection and give light coverage for blemishes, dark circles, acne marks and pigmentation.

Besides all these benefits, they also give the goodness of minerals and antioxidants to the skin.

They carry the anti -ageing components like Vitamin C and E, Peptides, glycerin etc which prove to be beneficial for the skin.

They give a soft, luminous effect to the skin giving a light coverage.

If a BB cream states that it is oil-free, then it tends to control the excess oil production giving a matte finish to the skin.

  • CC Cream (Color Correcting)

Anti-ageing (correcting age-spots, uneven skin tone) + SPF+ Medium Coverage

CC Creams are comparatively heavier and more moisturizing than BB creams.

They help in correcting the complexion while providing the appropriate hydration and sun protection to the skin.

They are higher in anti- ageing properties than the BB creams and help to correct the dark spots, uneven skin tones and redness.

They provide more coverage as compared to BB creams that helps conceal fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of ageing.

CC creams are basically a heavier formula than BB creams with higher skin benefits.

  • DD Cream (Dynamic do-all or Daily Defence)

Anti-ageing (Barrier to prevent moisture loss, daily defense, color correcting) + SPF +
Medium coverage

DD creams are the combination of the best of the properties of BB and CC creams.

They are lighter in texture than the BB creams but provide more anti-ageing benefits like brightening, reducing wrinkles, providing barrier to moisture loss etc.

DD creams also have the color correcting particles found in CC creams.

They provide medium, buildable coverage to the problem areas and help conceal the various signs of ageing.

Though these double letter creams are lining up big time in the beauty isles, theres a lot of difference in their functions and task for the skin.

Keeping your skin requirements and needs in mind, now you can decide which one to add to your beauty cabinet.
